It's not a monarch..I think
it's one of those freeloading
butterflies with similar markings
to fool predators, but no
poisonous taste.

Florida butterfly

difficult to identify this
particular butterfly...I
caught it in Florida in 1978...
sketched it from life and
then, like the saint I am,
released it unharmed.
