More Joe Venuti

Venuti was one of the earliest
jazz violinist and his recordings
with virtuoso guitarist Eddie Lang
directly inspired the Django-Grapelli
collaboration. Venuti was an indefatigable
session musician and recorded with a
raft of my favorite 20s/30s artists,
including the Boswell Sisters and Bing Crosby.

Joe Venuti

This is a precious concert
memory...seeing the legendary
Joe Venuti gig at an intimate
club in the Orlando area. This may
be the venue pictured in the Wikipedia
article, the Village Jazz Lounge. He
died 6 months later.

My friend Mike had a technique
with markers...the bleed-through

image which inspired the graphic
on the page. I adopted that here...
