A view from Lincoln

The view from Becky's backyard-- no longer available
because she had a cool wall put up to block the view
of an obnoxious attorney.

In the West

To me there's an ineffable element of romance
in the American West...

Billy the Kid

This was the 2nd of numerous Billy the Kid Pageant
t-shirt designs I did from the 70s-90s...we called it
"Little Billy" because the previous year's shirt focused
on a larger head, called "Big Billy"

Taos pillar

We visited with our son (interning at

Jim Ramsey, New Mexico Old-Timer

Jim Ramsey was this old-timer in Lincoln,
New Mexico who lived in a tumble-down
adobe. He whittled for me a classic deadfall
mechanism which I still have somewhere.
This is an awfully good portrait and I can
hardly believe I drew it from life, but I
think I did.

the joints don't look that great I must
admit...but I still like the vista,
sketched from a hilltop.

Matt the Kid

Although not a particularly good
likeness, here is Matt, wearing
Billy-the-Kid t-shirt and gym
shoes, practicing his quick-draw.

Self-portrait 1978...I loved that hat,
purchased in Pagosa Springs, CO.
